The 2016 National Dance Conference and Atlantic Dance Showcase mark the fourth year in a five-year pilot project partnership among the dance presenter networks in Canada. The pilot project is supported by Canada Council for the Arts’ Audience and Market Development Program. The Conference brings over 80 dance professionals from across the country to St. John’s for three days of talks, workshops and planning sessions, aimed at strengthening dance presenting industry and capacity in the country. The Showcase gives artists from the Atlantic Canada region an opportunity to present market-ready works to the conference participants and to the public, and provides conference participants with a curated, overarching look at the dance culture within the region.

The combination of these events will provide an incredible occasion to shine a light on our industry, festival, regional artists, stakeholders, businesses and culture, and will, in total, bring over 120 dancers and dance professionals to St. John’s from October 3 – 8, 2016.

Alongside Neighbourhood Dance Works, presenting partners of the National Presenter Conference and Atlantic Dance Showcase include The Atlantic Presenters Association, The CanDance Network, Made in BC: Dance on Tour, Ontario Dances, and La Danse sur les routes du Québec.
